Updated: ASMSU facing loss of student tax funding

ASMSU, MSU’s undergraduate student government, faces the risk of losing student tax funding after deciding to decline passing a bill to turn the group into an official university department and transfer funds to the university financial system at the general assembly meeting Thursday night.

A large part of what you do — the activities you participate in, the sports you play, the way you act in certain situations — contributes to who you are as a person. These little pieces paint a bigger picture of who you truly are deep down inside. To my dismay, a large part of who I am — or seem to be — is dependent upon how others see me.

Update 10:55 a.m.: The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids has posted severe weather safety tips in preparation for today’s severe weather threat. — Update, 10:10 a.m.: A tornado watch is in effect for most of lower Michigan, including MSU, until 6 p.m. Primary threats include several tornadoes possible, damaging winds up to 80 mph and large hail.

John Kirsh loves bass. It’s the kind of music he can hear, he can feel. Kirsh, who lost his hearing because of a fever while he was an infant, only can hear the sounds of thunder or a jet passing overhead. With his hearing aid, however, he can hear the voices of his students, his friends, his family.
