MSU students protest Iranian president

Iranian students gathered Wednesday afternoon at the rock on Farm Lane to take part in a protest that won’t just raise awareness at MSU, but will support demonstrators thousands of miles away in Iran.

Board of Water and Light gets award

The Lansing Board of Water and Light received the Regional Growth Award from the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce. The award was given to the board because of its leadership in various energy projects, such as constructing and operating Michigan’s largest solar array and being the first utility in the state to adopt a renewable portfolio standard, which is a regulation requiring the increased production of energy from renewable energy sources. It is one of seven companies and organizations receiving the Regional Growth Award from the Chamber of Commerce.

MSU Museum to extend hours

The MSU Museum and Museum Store will offer extended hours until 7 p.m. Nov. 4 and 11. The museum also is holding a holiday benefit sale, which includes toys, books and gifts that celebrate world cultures and natural history.

New performance comes to theater

Professional theater company Williamston Theatre, 122 S. Putnam St., in downtown Williamston, Mich., will open its production of “This Wonderful Life” by Steve Murray at 3 p.m. Nov. 27. and is scheduled to run until Dec. 20. Tickets for the 90-minute production go on sale Nov. 9.
