A 48-year-old female university employee reported her laptop stolen between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

CHM prepares for new departments

The College of Human Medicine, or CHM, will formally welcome three new departments starting Jan. 1, 2012, after the Board of Trustees voted to authorize their creation at its Friday meeting.

Anxious students could find relief

A friend of mine recently signed up to be a subject in a sleep deprivation study. I told him he’s a stronger man than I am, and also crazy. For me, sleep loss leads to stress and a bad mood, so I won’t be volunteering myself for testing anytime soon.

In trying times

When Andrew Cross headed to Iraq for the first time, he was the 23-year-old black sheep of his family. In a family of doctors and other medical professionals, Cross said he never got over the GI Joe phase from childhood — and he decided to enlist. Cross is one of the many MSU students who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan during the more than eight years of conflict.
