Flash mob begins protest against coal plant

Yesterday afternoon, about 60 people danced at the plaza of the Administration Building. Although the dancers began their flash mob on a positive note, the performance took a serious turn when participants put on surgical masks and held up signs with statistics about the danger of coal plants.

Hockey hopes to make statement against Buckeyes

The Spartans (1-3-0, 0-2-0 CCHA) return home this week to face off against CCHA opponent Ohio State (2-2, 1-1 CCHA) at Munn Ice Arena. Although MSU holds a forceful all-time series lead (81-25-8), it enters the game looking to make a statement against a formidable conference opponent.

Students unfairly rushed to sign leases

No student can predict the future. However, by pressuring them to sign leases as early as a year in advance, property management companies are asking students to do just that. Being pressured to sign a lease to live off-campus in October for the following fall is too early for students’ ever-changing plans.

Legislation goes against rights

State Rep. Tom McMillin, R-Rochester Hills, recently introduced legislation that would void East Lansing’s ordinance by prohibiting any Michigan community from adopting an ordinance that prohibits discrimination based on categories not included in state law. This is an issue that every resident of East Lansing and every MSU student should be concerned and outraged about.
