MSU to focus on civil rights

Next year will mark two historic anniversaries in U.S. civil rights, and MSU wants to makes sure they don’t go unobserved. Marketed as “a year-long community conversation on civil and human rights,” Project 60/50 was announced Tuesday in an email from MSU President Lou Anna K.

University network down briefly

MSU experienced a brief period of network downtime Wednesday afternoon because of what Information Technology Services staff are calling a main switch failure in the university’s network infrastructure.

Police Brief 06/26/11

A 21-year-old male student was arrested on June 19 for intentionally driving through the gate at Lot 62 near IM Sports-West, breaking the arm of the gate valued at $100. The incident was reported by a 20-year-old student employee and occurred between 6:10 and 10:30 p.m. According to the report, the suspect drove his tan four-door 1999 Toyota through the gate because he did not have money to pay the fee to park in the lot.

MSU Federal Credit Union, or MSUFCU, the world’s largest university-based credit union, which serves both MSU and Oakland University, was recently recognized as one of the Top Workplaces in Michigan by the Detroit Free Press.
