It was more than one week ago when LaRay Jones walked out to where she parked her car earlier that day and noticed something was wrong - her car was not in the spot she had parked it in.Immediately Jones thought her car was stolen because she has a faculty parking pass and gate card to park in the Wharton Center parking ramp.Instead, Jones found out her car had been towed.

Junior transfer redshirted for season, postseason in jeopardy

Junior outside hitter Sara Villwock, who has been sidelined with a foot injury since the end of September, will be given a medical redshirt for this season. MSU head coach Chuck Erbe said he thought long and hard about the decision, making it within the last week. "She's making good progress, but for her to be back in time to really play a substantiative role for our team - she's not going to be in any position to do that," Erbe said. "She's still not cleared to go full-bore and jump and be in practice.

Casey McNenly's review of Michael Moore's latest film, "Bowling For Columbine," was much appreciated, and his glowing rating of the film does justice to this great movie and should be seen as encouragement for everyone to go see it while it is in the theater.

Columnist correct about hunger issue

I want to applaud Shawn Wozniak for his honest and unexpected column about the pervasiveness of hunger in the world ("Hunger not just time between meals," SN 11/12). While socialization of food and arguments of natural selection are complex and tangled issues, there is one simple fact everyone needs to know: There is enough food to feed everyone in the world, yet an astonishing number of people go days or weeks without proper nutrition. Why? There are several reasons - consumer culture, our agricultural and political systems - but knowing all of the reasons is impossible, and you don't need to in order to do something about it.

Group begins marrow drive

A student organization hopes to register 100 students to donate bone marrow for cancer patients in two bone marrow drives. Asian Pacific American Student Organization (APASO), group affiliates Hapa Asian Pacific Alliance, alpha Kappa Delta Phi and Shaw Hall racial ethnic aides held the first of two drives to register students on a bone-marrow donation list. The first drive was held Tuesday, and a second drive will be held from 11 a.m.
