During Tuesday’s Faculty Council meeting, University Committee on Faculty Affairs, or UCFA, chairwoman Deborah Moriarty presented a proposal to increase the faculty merit pool by about 2 percent and the market adjustment pool by about 1 percent.

Students have voted in favor of renewing ASMSU’s $16.75 tax, an extra $1.25 tax for the Readership Program and to approve the constitutional amendments to postpone implementation of 501©(3) status and to reinstate a temporary Academic Assembly. ASMSU is MSU’s undergraduate student government. 758 students voted in favor of the $16.25 tax renewal, with 164 students voting against it and 49 abstaining. 797 students voted in favor of the $1.25 tax for the Readership Program, which provides four daily newspapers free of charge for students on campus.
