Women's soccer set for difficult, emotional weekend

Coming into the most important weekend of the season, the MSU women’s soccer team will be carrying heavy hearts. Even as 13-time defending Big Ten Champion Penn State and Ohio State come to town, the minds and the thoughts of Spartan players will be fixated on the passing of Adalin Farnum.

It pains me knowing they are talking about my former classmates, high school teachers and best friends. How could my soft-spoken Arabic friends be connected to wars, bombings and terrorist threats? I see the looks on people’s faces when I mention my friends Omar, Yousif and Amir. I can tell what they’re thinking. To put it lightly, it’s unjust.

Gholston suspended for one game by Big Ten

Sophomore defensive end William Gholston is suspended for one game for violating the Big Ten Sportslike Conduct Agreement during MSU’s 28-14 win over Michigan, the Big Ten announced Thursday. Gholston will miss Saturday’s game against No. 4 Wisconsin.
