A 49-year-old man from New York City, was arrested between 12:45-1:15 a.m. Feb. 2 for being drunk and disorderly and for having an open container of alcohol near the College of Law Building, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

ASMSU debates internship credit

The cost of a college internship — and how MSU measures internship credits — is under examination by an ASMSU committee after some representatives noted a disconnect in the amount students were paying in tuition for credit and the instructional time they received. ASMSU is MSU’s undergraduate student government.

E.L. City Council to discuss financing City Center II project Tuesday

The East Lansing City Council is scheduled to discuss financing for a portion of the long-running City Center II project during its Tuesday meeting. Public discussion on refinancing four parcels of property on Evergreen Avenue related to the $97 million redevelopment project is on the council’s business agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 410 Abbot Road.

Spartans dabble in meme culture

A popular Internet phenomenon turned Spartan green this weekend when a California-based online class note provider connected memes with college campuses. Memes are images with captions typed overtop of them, often relating to humorous situations or occurrences. The most popular images often turn viral and prompt people all around the country and world to create new captions for the same picture.

College of Law hosts Diversity Week

The MSU College of Law is holding its 18th annual Diversity Week, which runs until Friday, with a variety of events catered to spreading awareness throughout not only the law community, but campus-wide audiences, said Mary Ferguson, director of Diversity Services for the college.

‘Breakdown’ contributes to Spartans’ loss

When it came down to it, MSU wrestling’s 24-13 dual loss to No. 6 Ohio State wasn’t because the Spartans were unprepared, or overmatched, or even just having a bad day.
