Student representatives share goals

The Residence Halls Association, or RHA, the Council of Graduate Students, or COGS, and MSU’s undergraduate student governments provide services, funding and a voice for MSU students. With their contributions to policymaking at MSU, The State News decided to catch up with a few members of these governing bodies to find out who these student representatives really are.

Bowl bound?

After losing to No. 20 Michigan (5-2 overall, 3-0 Big Ten) 12-10 on Saturday, the MSU football team (4-4, 1-3) has gone from a team fighting for a Big Ten championship to one hoping for an invitation to a bowl game. The Spartans will need wins in two of their final four games to reach postseason play.

Haunted Aud returns to MSU for 4th year

From Oct. 26-28, students will take a step into their worst nightmares as the Society for Performers and Arts Management, or S.P.A.M., and the MSU Department of Theatre hosts the fourth annual Haunted Aud in the Auditorium.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. After back-to-back 11-win seasons, this was supposed to be the time the MSU football team (4-4 overall, 1-3 Big Ten) broke through a crumbling Big Ten to reach the Rose Bowl for the first time in 25 years.

Conversation and fine wine, no snobs allowed

Unlike other bars in downtown Lansing, P Squared will be the only primary wine bar. The goal, they say, is to offer a wide selection and relaxed atmosphere without the snooty attitude.
