Wedged between the Life Sciences Building and the Clinical Center, MSU has broken new ground. In honor of a new on-campus bioengineering facility on Service Road, a ground-breaking ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon, with figures such as MSU President Lou Anna K.

MSU archaeology group discovers historic artifacts

Underneath the bulk of MSU’s campus, there lies an array of history, begging to be discovered. Over the years, the MSU Campus Archaeology Program has found boiler buildings and old dormitories, as well as prehistoric artifacts dating back to 1500 B.C.

Nature plaza to replace Morrill Hall in fall

From the dust, smoke and rubble of Morrill Hall, a commemorative plaza arises. The plaza outlines where Morrill Hall once stood with lines of shade trees, flowering shrubs and features a main walkway that aligns with the path of the old hallway, MSU Landscape Architect Deb Kinney said. The walkway juts out, covering where Morrill Hall’s front porch originally was, and contains brick and concrete design resembling the hall’s window motif.

The hardest decisions to make in life often involve those who are most dear to us, including animals. MSU researchers have developed a questionnaire aimed at finding common ground between the owner and the veterinarian for helping pet owners make those difficult decisions.

Study shows small percentage of people wash hands properly

Be wary of what you touch — a recent MSU study published in the Journal of Environmental Health shows only 5 percent of people who use the bathroom wash their hands long enough to rid them of dirt and germs.

MSU Prof wins Krieghbaum Under-40 Award

John Besley, an associate professor in MSU’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences, became the first MSU faculty member to be honored with the Krieghbaum Under-40 Award by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication, or AEJMC.
