Sparty's Night Club is suing Lansing Township for a permit to allow topless entertainment in their club, township officials said. Labor activist has eyes on trustee seat

MSU alumnus Phil Thompson said after years of helping Michigan labor unions negotiate contracts and benefits, he is ready to roll up his sleeves for the Spartans and do his best to make tuition affordable. The Democratic candidate for the MSU Board of Trustees is running against eight others for one of two seats in Tuesday's board election. Thompson is president of Service Employees International Union Local 517M, an organization that helps Michigan unions organize and bargain for contracts.

Downtown East Lansing merchants will host the 14th annual Great Pumpkin Walk this evening. The event is free and allows children to collect treats in a safe and fun environment.
