There’s something about the weather changing from the bitter cold of winter to the warmth of summer. Whether it’s trading those boots for sandals or going from a winter wonderland to a golden tan, those few months of sunshine are the ones that many people look forward to all year long.

Michigan’s economy is in one sorry state. That’s not news to anyone. Daily headlines read that Michigan and the rest of the country are economically spiraling downward, and everyone from pundits to professors are offering their solutions on what should be done.

When applying to MSU as a prospective freshman, David Holcomb boasted strong test scores, plenty of extracurricular activities and passing grades from a few community college courses. Yet Holcomb had one major difference from his peers — he was homeschooled until coming to MSU.

Spartans pick up first home loss of season

The MSU baseball team had its undefeated record at home ended abruptly Sunday in its 9-2 loss to Michigan. Between Oldsmobile Park and McLane Baseball Stadium, the Spartans were a perfect 10-0 at home before the loss, their best home start since 2004, when they won 12 straight at home before dropping an 8-7 game to Ohio State.

Spartans can't finish sweep of U-M

Entering Sunday’s game against Michigan, the MSU baseball team had already captured a weekend series against the Wolverines for the first time since 2002. But the Spartans weren’t satisfied taking only two of three games — they wanted to repay the Wolverines for sweeping them the past two seasons.
