MSU stays Mich. leader in Peace Corps volunteers

MSU is No. 1 in Michigan and No. 4 in the U.S. for producing Peace Corps volunteers, according to the 2010 rankings released by the Peace Corps organization. Despite dropping one place since last year’s rankings, MSU maintained its place among the leaders in producing volunteers this year.

It is the students’ right to protest, but in order for such protests to be successful, they need to have an organized stance. Different concerns shouldn’t be downplayed, but they can’t be promoted all at once in a cacophony of hoots and hollers.

Someone once told me to never tell yourself something you would not say to another person. Basically, “treat yourself the way you would want to be treated.” I do not believe many people would tell another person they are fat, so why would one say that to themselves?

Current Spartans logo design will remain

MSU will continue to use the current Spartans head logo, not the proposed one, to build the university’s visual brand identity, Athletics Director Mark Hollis announced Friday. “After careful consideration, we will use the current Spartan logo design, first used in the late 1970s, to build our visual brand identity,” Hollis said in an open letter to MSU fans.
