It is the students’ right to protest, but in order for such protests to be successful, they need to have an organized stance. Different concerns shouldn’t be downplayed, but they can’t be promoted all at once in a cacophony of hoots and hollers.

Bernero expected to announce run for governor
Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero is expected to officially announce candidacy today for the Democratic nomination for the 2010 gubernatorial race. Bernero will discuss his run for governor at 5:30 p.m.

Current Spartans logo design will remain
MSU will continue to use the current Spartans head logo, not the proposed one, to build the university’s visual brand identity, Athletics Director Mark Hollis announced Friday. “After careful consideration, we will use the current Spartan logo design, first used in the late 1970s, to build our visual brand identity,” Hollis said in an open letter to MSU fans.

University Research Corridor executives, including President Lou Anna K. Simon, outlined goals the consortium will focus on in the coming year. The URC’s overarching goal is to help reshape Michigan’s economy.
