WKAR employees laid off to help balance budget

Ten WKAR employees were laid off last month to help eliminate the program’s $635,000 deficit, according to The Lansing City Pulse. Two supervisors, two producers and radio reporter Rob South were some of the employees who now face unemployment, the article said.

Rep. Mark Meadows found guilty of violating House rules

State Rep. Mark Meadows, D-East Lansing, was found guilty of violating House rules yesterday, after endorsing Susan Schmidt as a candidate for the 69th district seat in a constituent email newsletter late last month, according to Ari Adler, the press secretary for Speaker of the House Jase Bolger, R-Marshall.
