Women's soccer will return several key pieces in 2015

MSU is losing six players to graduation this year, but with some key pieces returning next fall, the Spartans should have an opportunity to compete in the Big Ten. Redshirt junior defender Mary Kathryn Fiebernitz has been a major contributor throughout her Spartan career, and she was recently named a second team All-Big Ten selection. She scored four goals this past season and anchored the MSU defense. “It’s definitely an honor to be named to that team,” Fiebernitz said.

Sparty armor building contest to be held Thursday evening

Today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Engineering Building lobby, the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) will host a Sparty costume/armor building contest. Teams will consist of two to five people, and they will be given three hours to create a costume or suit of armor with provided recycled materials. The top three teams will receive prizes or gift certificates from the Peanut Barrel, Espresso Royale, the Student Book Store, and more.

African Students Union organizes gala for Africa Week

As part of their yearly tradition, the African Students Union are organizing their annual gala this Saturday showcasing various aspects of the African culture, including dance, fashion and poetry. The gala is organized as part of the Africa Week, which is dedicated to spreading awareness about African culture and about various topics and issues related to the continent through a series of events and lectures that would take place from Nov.

Before I left home for my freshman year of college, my mom persistently tried to put me on birth control and reminded me again and again of all of the resources on campus to look for free condoms.  Her baby bird was leaving the nest, and she assumed that this baby bird was going to spend a lot of her free time between the sheets of some college boy’s bed.
