Living with many housemates diversifies college experience

At first, I did not know what I was getting myself into. A group of students — some of whom I had never met before — decided to look at houses together. The day we looked at houses was the first day all seven of us officially met. Because the house we were looking at was owned by Community Resource Management Co., we were forced to commit to a lease by October 2012, although we would not be moving in until August 2013. They also clean the linen packages that some on-campus students use.

Students campout for first crack at houses next year

At least 50 people camped out Wednesday night on the lawn of Community Resource Management Co., or CRMC, to get the first crack at signing up for housing for the next academic year. People hoping to sign up for their top choices of houses or apartments had to arrive on Wednesday evening to put their name and house on a board to hold their choice.

Transitional housing too common at MSU

For another year in a row, MSU has taken in too many students than it can house, resulting in the crowded, cramped transitional housing that is affecting so many students. Last year, hundreds of students were affected by a shortage of on-campus housing. As of last week, 545 are packed in dorms meant for only two people.
