Leader of the pack

Entering her last season, senior guard Alisa Wulff is ready to do more of what she’s been doing for the MSU women’s basketball team from the beginning — being a leader. Through Wednesday, Wulff has started every game and has racked up 11 rebounds and added 17 points to help her team to a 5-1 record.

ACC prevails in challenge for 9th straight season

The ninth Big Ten/ACC Challenge went just like the previous eight, as the ACC won eight of the 11 games. While Penn State’s Mike Walker led the Nittany Lions to a win with 17 points, the consensus top-two teams in the conference took different routes to their win.

Heisman watch

After watching Missouri beat Kansas last weekend, I proposed this question to those who watched the game with me: Who is the Heisman Trophy favorite?

MSU stomps N.C. State

MSU freshman guard Durrell Summers cut behind a defender, caught a backdoor bounce pass, leapt and went under the basket while kissing a reverse layup off the backboard. He rolled across the floor to the sideline after being fouled while the ball bounced around in the cylinder before dropping in.

All tied up

It was a tale of two ties for the No. 5 MSU hockey team this weekend in the College Hockey Showcase. Things weren’t looking good Friday night against No. 13 Minnesota after the Spartans lazily gave up a shorthanded goal to trail 3-2 midway through the third period.
