What started more than six years ago as an idea to help bring MSU back among the ranks of the college football elite is now complete, as the Skandalaris Football Center was unveiled to the public at the building’s opening ceremony Thursday.

Young team prepares for season during scrimmage

New players and new rules will dictate the beginning of the season for the MSU volleyball team. The Spartans, who held their annual Green and White game Saturday, only have three upperclassmen on the team this season and have been picked to finish eighth in the Big Ten.

Dantonio: 'I'm very encouraged'

Contact was the order of business Friday for the MSU football team’s first day of practice in full pads this summer. After four days of fall camp in shorts or half-pads, the team dressed for collisions Friday and ran about 35 to 40 live plays, head coach Mark Dantonio said.

High school senior Dan France accepted an offer Sunday to play for MSU, making him the 15th player to orally commit to the team’s 2009 recruiting class, according to Rivals.com.

Spartans gear up for another season

Beaming rays of sunshine poured into the MSU football team’s outdoor practice facility, media members and cameramen swarmed each nook and cranny of the field, and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” blared loudly across the field.
