New ordinance enacted with first snowfall

The first heavy snowfall of the year Tuesday night led to the first round of enforcement for East Lansing’s new snow removal ordinance, which sets a time frame for residents to clear snow off their sidewalks before facing fines.

Sean Fitzpatrick, a freshman in the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities, or RCAH, said he chose his major because it allows him to put his interests and talents to use. “During (an RCAH) presentation, I was amazed by how much it seemed like it would fit,” Fitzpatrick said.

Classic dish gets mac-over

Yesterday afternoon, Brody Square diners were given the opportunity to watch celebrity chef Dave Martin put a twist on the culinary classic during a demonstration in which he prepared his signature dish — Black Truffle Mac and Cheese — from scratch.

Pancakes, fraternity help troops

The brothers of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity and participating MSU students were stuffing their mouths with several stacks of pancakes Tuesday, with the hopes of raising funds to send care packages to troops overseas.
