Don’t be surprised if you’re out to dinner and see someone casually pull a bottle of wine out of his or her bag and start drinking it.House Bill 5046 went into effect March 14 giving bars and restaurants with liquor licenses the option of allowing their customers to bring their own wine.

Mid-March snow makes for slippery sidewalks, altered bus routes

The immense snowfall in the middle of March led to a number of problems for commuters throughout East Lansing because of altered bus routes and unplowed roads and sidewalks.National Weather Service meteorologist William Marino predicted teperatures to be around 5 degrees below zero by sunrise Thursday, but said no more snow is expected. Afternoon temperatures could rise to the upper 20s.
