“I really think that Michigan State students have the opportunity to decide this election, full stop,” Slotkin said.

"I spend most of my days just … just looking at all these horrible, violent videos that coming out of Iran," Art History and Design Assistant Professor Parisa Ghaderi said. "It’s just there’s so much violence on the streets, and it’s just the emotional burden that it has on all the Iranian community here who still have close ties to Iran.”

The Michigan State University Department of Police and Public Safety recently welcomed Maria Valayil as their new full time police social worker. The police social worker accompanies officers on welfare checks and follows up on incidents that may indicate an individual in the MSU community is struggling with their mental health. Valayil’s role will shift the department towards a structure in which police officers and social workers can work together in responding to mental health emergencies.
