Laura Rugless, the second of two finalists for the role of vice president of MSU's Office of Civil Rights and Title IX Coordinator, shared her short and long-term visions in a presentation Friday morning. She said she hopes to make MSU an impactful civil rights leader.
As students made their treks to class yesterday, they encountered multiple people offering them Bibles. Some students were frustrated. According to MSU policy, permits are only required for certain groups to solicit on campus, specifically those who are selling goods.
Bhatnagar is currently the vice chancellor for civil rights at the University of California Los Angeles, where he oversees Title IX, harassment and discrimination issues.
“Every time we send a message, we review the message and we look at how we can improve that process (going) forward,” emergency management division captain Dave Oslund said. “So we’ve made a couple of changes that will likely create a faster, cleaner message in the future.”
