She’s a social relations and policy sophomore who is spearheading an effort to encourage new international students.Poole came up with the idea to collect photographs of students, faculty and staff holding signs with inspiring sayings in different languages. An Apple Store has finally come to the Lansing area. Shoppers lined up outside the entrance Saturday morning at Eastwood Towne Center, anxiously waiting for the store’s grand opening at 10 a.m. The first 1,000 customers were given a free T-shirt. The Apple Store offers free workshops to customers so they can learn how to get the best use out of their Apple product, and those who need repairs can bring their product to the store for technical support.
Lansing resident Anthony Shearer will not be charged in connection with the Spartan Stadium bomb threat that occurred on July 2.Shearer appeared in 54B District Court today and Judge Andrea Larkin found there was no evidence suggesting Shearer knew his girlfriend, Cynthia Spade, was going to call in a bomb threat.
East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas BW said the property at Albert Avenue and Abbot Road will most likely be replaced with an office building, the area east of Valley Court Park will be replaced with a residential building and parking ramp and the location between Abbot Road and Evergreen Avenue will possibly be replaced by a residential building for senior citizens.
MSU recently launched a revamped version of an already existing fiscal misconduct hotline, giving MSU community members an anonymous way to report a variety of misconduct, ranging from sexual assault to academic dishonesty. MSU spokesman Jason Cody said the hotline is not designed to replace 911, but instead is meant to encourage witnesses to speak up.
The yoga-inspired, athletic apparel chain, Lululemon Athletica, opened a showroom in East Lansing over the weekend.The showroom will act as a smaller version of the regular store. Nina Gardner, the community relations representative for Lululemon Athletica and a MSU alumna, said the store will still sell everything it does in the regular stores but in a smaller amount because of limited space.
