Lewerke ready to show off his athleticism after broken leg

To co-offensive coordinator Dave Warner, quarterback Brian Lewerke brings something to the team that MSU football hasn’t seen in recent years. The 6-foot-3, 212-pound signal-caller’s athleticism leads Warner to think Lewerke is the most athletic quarterback MSU has had “in our time.”

Former Spartan set to make NFL preseason debut

Former Spartan LS Taybor Pepper officially signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Monday morning with a one-year contract. The new Raven played for Michigan State from 2012-2015 and tried out with the Green Bay Packers this spring before being let go.  With a one-year contract, Pepper looks to show off his skills to be able to stay on the team or even have other teams pick him up at the end of the season.

Vegas puts Spartans as 17-point favorites over Bowling Green

MSU football shouldn’t have any issue defeating Bowling Green in the Spartans’ season opener on Saturday, according to Bovada. The Spartans opened up as a 19 and a half point favorite over the Falcons, but the sportsbook slimmed MSU’s odds to win to 17 on Sunday night, with the over-under currently set at 56 points.
