Parade wrong place for pro-life group

I can certainly say I was surprised a week ago when about eight pro-life activists marched past me on Bogue Street followed by a wagon with a little kid in it with a sign that read, “I’m a child, not a choice.” I do not want this to come across as a matter of free speech rights, public forum restrictions, captive audiences or anything of the like, but a matter of tact. Many alumni and students brought their children to the parade so they could see floats, horses and fire trucks, not people trying to advance their socio-political agendas.

McCue’s son, parks and recreation junior Bradley McCue, died from alcohol poisoning after downing 24 shots on his 21st birthday in 1998. Newstead’s son, 24-year-old Brandon D’Annunzio, died Oct.

U.S. shouldnt kill innocent Afghans

This letter is in response to David W. Towne’s letter “War is best solution to ending terrorism” (SN, 10/15). While I agree with his assessment that it is time for action, one would think a third-year law student could produce original thought rather than reword what the six o’clock news has been telling us for the last month. Our awareness as a nation is a virtue, but it is a double-edged sword.

Music, even if loud, helps identify self

After four years on this campus, there isn’t much that intimidates me. But there is one thing that scares me above all else - I get nervous driving in the area when I play my music loud. I’m not worried about the police giving me a noise violation ticket, although I have gotten a few in the past.
