Students debate trip ban with school officials
Students and parents crowded into the Administrative Offices of East Lansing High School.While some voiced their concerns over budget cuts, a few were at 509 Burcham Drive to speak out on the schools ban on out-of-state travel to the Board of Education for the East Lansing School District.It is our belief, regardless of your intentions, you are letting the terrorists win, 18-year-old senior Mark Gillespie said.Gillespies comments on the ban follow a student protest on Wednesday at the high school by more than 250 students, who left their classes in defiance.
