MSU Union to host centennial celebration kick-off event next Thursday

The Michigan State University Union will celebrate 100 years as a cornerstone of campus life next Thursday, June 12, with a centennial kickoff event designed to honor its history. Organizers say the goal is to honor the exact date the building first opened — June 12, 1925 — while launching a yearlong celebration that includes homecoming festivities and a closing event in April of 2026.

Recent MSU graduate Liam Richichi launches bid for East Lansing City Council

Recent Michigan State University graduate Liam Richichi is no stranger to politics. During his time on campus, he was active in MSU College Democrats — eventually serving as chapter president and leading its efforts during the 2024 election season. Richichi now works as the constituent services director for State Representative Jason Morgan. Now, the political theory and constitutional democracy graduate is taking on a new challenge: running for one of two open seats on the East Lansing City Council in the city’s Nov. 5 general election.

MSU advises international students to remain in the U.S.

The Office for International Students and Scholars at Michigan State University sent out an email earlier this week warning international students not to travel outside of the U.S. The decision follows reports that the U.S. Department of State has temporarily suspended visa interviews for international students intending to study in the United States.
