Minority graduate enrollment rises
Enrollment in MSU's graduate programs has increased by more than 100 students including across-the-board growth in all minority groups.MSU's Annual Progress Report on Affirmative Action and Diversity Within the Community, released Tuesday, reported an 8-percent increase to 1,690 for total graduate enrollment.This year there were 2,943 students admitted to the graduate school, but not everyone who is admitted ends up enrolling.

Final three students arraigned today in disturbances
The final three students allegedly involved in disturbances that caused more than $40,000 of damage to campus and the city were arraigned today in 54-B District Court.A total of 22 people, including 17 students, have now pleaded innocent to charges ranging from inciting a riot and indecent exposure to being intoxicated in public and minor in possession.Some of the cases - mostly those involving inciting a riot and property damage - will go to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office, while others will stay within East Lansing officials' jurisdiction.Five students arraigned in the charges have contacted ASMSU, MSU's undergraduate student government, for legal help, said Brian Jeffries, one of the legal services lawyers.Four students have been suspended by university officials for their alleged involvement following two men's basketball games.

Riots lead to 2 more suspensions
Two more students were suspended Tuesday for their alleged involvement in the disturbances that occurred during the March 28 weekend, officials announced. The most recent action brings the total to four students who have been temporarily suspended in the aftermath of the riot which caused $40,000 in damage to city and campus, said Lee June, vice president for student affairs and services. Twenty-one students were arrested during the disturbances that followed men's basketball games in the NCAA Tournament, but officials expect more to come as additional information is obtained and more charges are added. Officials have refused to release names of those who have been suspended, citing the Family and Educational Rights Privacy Act.
