ASMSU: Noise ordinance shouldn't include jail time

ASMSU officials presented city officials with recommendations for changes in the city's party-noise ordinance at the East Lansing City Council meeting Wednesday night, including dropping jail time for offenders.Lynsey Little, the undergraduate student government's director of community affairs, said although council had good intentions to pass an ordinance that would try to curb noise in neighborhoods and stop violence occurring at parties, the policy needs to be tailored to put more emphasis on keeping students safe. "We didn't want to make the ordinance non-effective, we just wanted to make certain areas more specific and clearly enforceable," she said.

Flier doesn't allow people to overeat

I am responding to the article "RUBI celebrates Halloween candy fiends". It never ceases to amaze me that if you tell people or print information that suggests that it is actually "OK" to eat without feeling guilty, people automatically assume you are telling or giving them permission to overeat - to stuff themselves continuously.
