The East Lansing mayor and MSU's president spoke Tuesday to clear up a miscommunication about an agreement concerning the possible relocation of MSU's College of Human Medicine to Grand Rapids. The "framework of understanding," released without MSU officials present at a press conference Monday, outlines several requirements community leaders hope MSU will adhere to if the university decides to expand the school.

Randy from MTV's "Real World San Diego" shared his travel expertise with students Tuesday night at the Union. As part of STA Travel's Europe Night, the MTV cast member and STA representatives gave students looking to travel abroad tips on how to make their experiences worthwhile. Friday's editorial about my candidacy for the Board of Trustees, "No chance" (SN 3/26), was devoted to arguing that I probably won't win.
I am writing this letter in response to the story "Student accused of fraud" (SN 3/29). It is a shame that Denita Dorsey was so greedy that she would stoop to the level of stealing the identities of others so that she could purchase luxuries for herself, including a $40,000 vehicle.
This letter is in response to Randolph Flick II ("Crime wave should make 'U' proactive" SN 3/29). I have been taking self-defense classes for three months now and just recently have started teaching them.
Graduate and postdoctorate issues were the topics of discussion during Tuesday's Faculty Council meeting. Nausea, pure disgust, utter fascination? No one word can truly describe the mad rush of emotions I experienced after a bit of Monday night channel-surfing that led me to MTV's latest addition to the reality TV pool, "I Want A Famous Face." The new series tracks self-loathing wannabes going under the knife to get Brad Pitt's nose and Britney Spears' breasts or getting liposuction and slicing off skin to get Kate Winslet's body.
The MSU hockey team's season-long struggles with offensive production and maintaining consistency hurt the Spartans when it mattered most - the NCAA Tournament. MSU finished the season with two losses to stand at 23-17-2, but in those two losses, only one goal was scored and only two players tallied points. "It's such a blessing in today's game to score," head coach Rick Comley said after Saturday's loss to Minnesota-Duluth.

Joe DeLamielleure, a former Spartans offensive guard, and Fred Stabley Sr., former MSU sports information director, were honored as part of the 50th-anniversary induction class, which included Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers owner Mike Ilitch and Detroit Pistons majority owner Bill Davidson. DeLamielleure said receiving the award was a honor, particularly considering all the people who were influential in his life, such as his wife and high school coach. "It feels great because a lot of my MSU buddies are here, and I grew up 10 miles from here," he said.
Few political stories in 2004 have been as dramatic as U.S. Sen. John Kerry's rise from defeat and political oblivion to an overwhelming come-from-behind victory in the Iowa Caucuses, a victory that eventually propelled him to the Democratic Party nomination. Only days before the Iowa caucuses, as the Democratic candidates in Iowa were marshalling their resources and supporters for the final push, Kerry had been written off by almost everyone. I had the privilege of being in Iowa during the weekend prior to the caucuses, spending my time as a volunteer for one of Kerry's Democratic opponents, Sen.

Tuesday's charges will be in addition to the four identity-theft and fraud charges Dorsey received on Friday, East Lansing police Capt.
Well, Eric Morath, half of your wish has come true ("Must-win for 2nd-year coach" SN 3/26). Indeed our Spartans hockey team did fall this weekend to the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs, and yes, we are out of the playoffs again.
