Programming Board could get extra funds for semester events

A “miscommunication” possibly could allocate $35,055.08 more in funds to ASMSU’s Programming Board to support student events across campus. ASMSU’s Student Assembly Finance Committee on Thursday passed the bill five votes to four that would give more funds to the board, which already receives about 20 percent of ASMSU’s total budget — about $1.3 million.

Softball club member explains ins, outs

After not making the MSU softball team in spring 2006, advertising senior Rhonda Adams still wanted to play the sport. Adams, along with psychology senior Angela Newland, finance junior Courtney Overfield and interdisciplinary studies in social science and human resources junior Stephanie Young decided to create MSU Women’s Fast Pitch Club Softball.

MSU alumni hold tailgate in honor of friend's life

Under a brilliantly blue sky, about 50 longtime friends and Spartans fans made their way back to East Lansing to celebrate the memory of a deceased friend. The first “Big Jon Tailgate” was held Saturday to honor the memory of Jonathan “Big Jon” Fedewa, a 2000 MSU graduate died in May at age 30.
