A 19-year-old female student reported a GPS stolen from her vehicle in Lot 89, the commuter lot near Farm Lane and Mount Hope Road, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

 Don't be fair-weather fans; support Spartans either way

I’m having a hard time putting into words how disgusted and disappointed I am with MSU basketball fans. The mass exodus of MSU ticket holders at the end of Sunday’s game against Penn State — after Kalin Lucas missed a free throw to tie the game — was appalling. I understand some people are always going to leave games early, but this was still a one-point game. What a joke.

President Barack Obama spent much of his first week reaching out to countries in the Muslim world, promising an outstretched hand to those who unclench their fist. What he may not have realized, however, was how many clenched fists he would find among Republicans in Congress.

It’s annoying more than anything. One of those petty little nuisances no driver can escape, but few ever do anything about. Every pothole could shake another piece underneath the car loose or offset the alignment a little further. Something broken? Well, that part will take about a week to arrive from Korea. Addressing the state of tuition

Two speeches today could outline the future cost of an MSU degree in the face of rising tuition costs and uncertain economic times. MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon will issue her State of the University address at 3 p.m. at Wharton Center’s Pasant Theatre, followed by Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s State of the State speech at 7 p.m. at the state Capitol in Lansing.
