Scholars aim to integrate sciences

Even in the 21st century, there is one part of civilization that needs integrating. At the annual American Association for the Advancement of Science, or AAAS, in February, MSU integrative studies professor Jon Miller and academics from around the world spoke at a symposium about the Chicago Council for Science and Technology, or C2ST.

All year long, the MSU wrestling team trains for one particular moment of its season — the Big Ten Championships. So forget about MSU’s 6-10 overall record, its 1-7 conference record and the youthful inexperience of a team that could have five freshmen in its starting line this weekend. As a relatively recent graduate of MSU, I can honestly say that I have read through The State News plenty of mornings. And one thing I never became too fond of was the type of “diversity” coverage The State News applies on its pages, such as the centerpiece Progress in diversity (SN 2/27).

Back atop the Big Ten

A long four years ended fittingly for the seniors on the MSU men’s basketball team, as their hard work on the court culminated in a regular season Big Ten Championship on Tuesday night. The Spartans clinched their first outright Big Ten title since 1999 with a 64-59 victory over Indiana at Assembly Hall.

An unsuccessful attempt to break into a Human Ecology office caused $50 in damage to the office door two weeks ago, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.
