POINT connects students with charities to address world needs

Students often find themselves searching for something to be a part of to help them transition into a new lifestyle in college. This was the case for social relations and policy sophomore Aishwarya Suresh, who decided to join POINT, then called ONE LIFE, which is an MSU chapter of a non-profit organization that connects people to charities around the world.

Sometimes the satisfaction of knowing you played a prominent role in the creation of your winter scarf beats buying one from a retail outlet. On Oct. 3, students and faculty of the MSU Residential Initiative on the Study of Environment organization gathered in Bailey Hall for a regular community building workshop and made the first stitches in their crochet projects.

Zach Bennett earns sole possession of MSU shutout record in 1-0 victory over Akron

The men's soccer team defeated the Akron Zips 1-0 on Oct. 7. The shutout victory, MSU's eighth in 10 games, gave junior goalkeeper Zach Bennett sole possession of the school record for most career shutouts. "To break the shutout record and against a good team like Akron, it means a lot," Bennett said. "I think I've worked pretty hard, that's what I came to Michigan State to potentially do...it's a special moment not only for me but for the whole defense and the whole team."
