Women's golf set to open season

MSU joins a field of Auburn, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Kentucky, North Texas, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane and UT-San Antonio at the “Mo” Morial Invitational, hosted by Texas A&M.

MSU women golfers, coach play in amateur

Along with freshman Liz Nagel and senior Natalie Brehm, six other Spartans — senior Michelle Bowles, juniors Maddi Massa and Shannon Warner and incoming freshmen Lindsey McPherson and Christine Meier — qualified for match play in the 94th Michigan Women’s Amateur. MSU head coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll also is competing in the event.

During the summer, MSU students still in East Lansing have a variety of different opportunities presented to them than they might find throughout the regular school year. Lighter class loads and warmer temperatures give students more time to enjoy the outdoors, including East Lansing’s surrounding golf courses, which are in prime form.
