Mid-March snow makes for slippery sidewalks, altered bus routes

The immense snowfall in the middle of March led to a number of problems for commuters throughout East Lansing because of altered bus routes and unplowed roads and sidewalks.National Weather Service meteorologist William Marino predicted teperatures to be around 5 degrees below zero by sunrise Thursday, but said no more snow is expected. Afternoon temperatures could rise to the upper 20s.

CATA considers new transit option

Capital Area Transit Authority is holding an East Lansing charrette March 19-23 to evaluate environmental impacts and include community members in the planning of a potential Bus Rapid Transit system down the Grand River/Michigan Avenue corridor.
