According to a press release from the Office of Mayor Andy Schor, it was announced on March 27 that the City of Lansing has extended its 2019 income tax filing deadline from April 30 to July 31.
"It's important that we make sure people have enough time to file their income taxes with the City of Lansing," Schor said. "Extending the deadline ... gives people the ability to use their federal income tax information when filing."
The IRS has also extended the federal tax-filing from April 15 to July 15. They will be waiving penalties and interest on tax payments.
