Make it a Spartan touchdown — and not the good kind.

A Michigan State spokesman confirmed Friday afternoon that tight end Noah Davis has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Davis, a redshirt junior out of Cincinnati, became the sixth member from the Spartan football team this season to add his name to the portal, joining wideouts Cam Chambers and Weston Bridges, running backs Connor Heyward and La'Darius Jefferson and linebacker Brandon Bouyer-Randle.

Davis was rated one of the nation's best tight ends, coming out of St. Xavier High School. He redshirted his freshman season in 2016, before playing in 11 games — including four starts — during the 2017 season, where he caught three passes for 22 yards. He missed the entire 2018 due to injury.

Davis did not register a catch in any of the four games he played in this season — Northwestern, Indiana, Ohio State, Wisconsin.

Davis' departure does not put a huge hole at the tight end position for Michigan State. The Spartans still have three players — Matt Seybert, Matt Dotson and Trenton Gillison — with experience this season. Gillison missed the Spartans' last game at Wisconsin, in which MSU lost 38-0.

Redshirt freshman Parks Gissinger is also listed at tight end switching over from defensive end after last season.

Michigan State (4-3, 2-2 Big Ten) is off this week and will host No. 7 Penn State at Spartan Stadium next Saturday ( 3:30 p.m., ABC).
