Former MSU basketball star Mateen Cleaves will be in Genesee County Circuit Court on March 27 for arguments on the appeal of a sexual assault case that was dismissed on Dec. 5, 2016.
According to court records, the appeal was filed by Genesee County prosectors on Dec. 19, 2016 and it will be heard by Judge Archie Hayman.
The State News reported Cleaves was charged with unlawful imprisonment, assault with intent to commit criminal sexual penetration, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct on March 15, 2016, when an arrest warrant was issued.
According to MLive, the case was dismissed by Genesee District Court Judge Cathy Dowd because of insufficient evidence.
