With both of their hands covered with papier-mache glue, psychology sophomore and Reach Studio Art Center volunteer Nicole Geller helps Jailen Wallace, 9, roll up her sleeves. "It's a good experience to be a good role model for the kids," Geller said. "And art is a very positive activity." Reach Studio Art Center, 1804 S. Washington Ave. in Lansing, is intended to be an accessible art-making venue for area residents — especially for those with income or transportation barriers that may prevent them from pursuing these types of activities.
