Minnesota falls 1-0 to Spartans

The MSU women’s soccer team only needed one chance Sunday. The Spartans (7-6-2, 4-4-1 Big Ten) recorded a 1-0 win against Minnesota (4-10, 3-7) on Sunday at Old College Field. The Spartans dominated the first half with 10 shots, but Minnesota found a way to thwart most of MSU’s chances. But the Gopher defense couldn’t stop a Spartan corner kick 29 minutes into the game. T-shirt giveaway turns into Zamboni disaster

A dose of déjà vu nearly befell Munn Ice Arena on Saturday night, as a Zamboni mishap delayed the start of the second period by about 15 minutes. During the first intermission, a Munn employee sitting on the Zamboni attempted to throw a giveaway T-shirt into the crowd, but his toss failed to clear the glass in the northeast corner of the rink.

Krass offense honored

Two years ago, sophomore midfielder Jeff Krass scored 23 goals for Brighton High School. Now he is being recognized for only scoring a third of that.
