MSU Powerlifting Club steps onto national platform, gains immense popularity in four years

The Michigan State Powerlifting Club, more commonly referred to as MSUPL, did not come easy and actually started as a project that took drive, consistency and passion from all of those who wanted the club to succeed. Building from the bottom up, current senior and club president Ali David wanted to make her dream come true while as an undergraduate.

A well-known Michigan State University alumna -- Joan Secchia -- who can be seen regularly at the MSU tennis courts cheering on the men’s and women’s tennis teams, decided to show her love and passion for the Michigan State tennis programs recently by donating $10 million.

MSU men's basketball lands dynamic transfer forward Frankie Fidler

Omaha transfer Frankie Fidler has committed to the Spartans after visiting MSU on April 11, as reported by on3. Izzo and his squad needed size on the wing following the departure of graduate forward Malik Hall, and Fidler fits that bill well. What the Spartans lacked in many areas last season — perimeter length, shooting and rebounding — Fidler is a major acquisition for Izzo and his staff.

MSU baseball's great offense takes Big Ten series win against Penn State

The MSU baseball team returned to its home field and took on a Big Ten rival, the Penn State Nittany Lions, and won two of the three games. Michigan State won the first game 6-5 and the second game 11-5, but lost the third and final game 11-9.

MSU football Spring Showcase displayed huge potential for upcoming season

On April 20, students and fans packed Spartan Stadium to witness the 2024 MSU football Spring Showcase, marking head coach Jonathan Smith's first at Michigan State. Aside from the veterans, the newly transferred and incoming freshmen played – such as quarterback Aidan Chiles, tight end Jack Velling and Nick Marsh, a top-10 wide receiver in the nation.

Smith, who recently transferred from coaching at Oregon State, will officially be part of this year's Spring Showcase, which marks the 15th and final spring practice during the offseason.

MSU hockey's Artyom Levshunov named to AHCA All-American honors

After the season-ending loss in Maryland Heights, Missouri in the regional finals of the NCAA Championships for the Michigan State men's hockey team, honors and awards for the team continues to circulate the program. One more of those includes freshman defenseman Artyom Levshunov, who was named a second-team All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association, or AHCA.

MSU baseball takes series win against Niagara, moves to 14-15 overall

The MSU baseball team played against the Niagara Purple Eagles in a home series this past weekend and won two of the three games, pushing the Spartans to 14-15 overall and 7-4 in home games. The Spartans were looking to rebound after a huge 18-0 loss against the Lansing Lugnuts, and in the three-game series, the Spartans won 9-0 and 7-6 and lost 8-6.

MSU softball swept by Indiana in three-game series, falls to 13-22 overall

The Michigan State softball team got swept in its three-game series against the Indiana Hoosiers this past weekend, losing 6-2, 12-4 and 7-2. With the three losses, the Spartans dropped to 13-22 on the season and 1-8 in conference play, winning only one of its last 10 games.

MSU softball prepares for home season opener, will face Indiana

Michigan State softball has had a rough season so far — the Spartans are 13-19 overall and 1-5 in Big Ten play. On April 5th, however, the Michigan State softball team looks to bounce back from a 1-2 series loss against Iowa as the Spartans will take on Indiana at home in a three-game series over the weekend, the first games they will play at home this season so far.

Michigan State baseball is coming into this weekend's home series against the Niagara University Purple Eagles off of an 18-0 loss to the Lansing Lugnuts, in which the only noteworthy offensive performance was designated hitter Christian Williams, who had Michigan State's only extra-base hit.

The 16th annual Crosstown Showdown between Michigan State baseball and the Lansing Lugnuts ended in a dominant 18-0 win for the Lugnuts, marking the 11th time in a row that the Oakland Athletics High-A affiliate team won.
