Last season, the MSU field hockey team was rolling through conference play before it met Iowa and saw its Big Ten regular season, Big Ten Tournament and Final Four hopes all dashed at the hands of the Hawkeyes in three devastating losses.

MSU's 1st series sweep not enough for Comley

MSU hockey head coach Rick Comley doesn’t want to get too high on his team just yet. Although the MSU hockey team earned its first sweep since Feb. 29 to March 1, 2008, this weekend against Clarkson, Comley said it’s still too early to make lofty assumptions about his team.

Unger receives conference honor

Following Sunday’s shutout against Central Michigan and Friday’s solid performance in the No. 8 MSU field hockey team’s win at Indiana, senior goalie Elissa Unger has been named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week.
