Wrestling team loses dual meets

The MSU wrestling team dropped two meets this weekend, losing 21-14 to No. 20 Pittsburgh and 29-7 to No. 18 Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. The losses move MSU’s season record to 3-5-0 this season.

Notre Dame fights back, ends game in tie

It boiled down to the last 30 seconds for the MSU hockey team in Sunday’s 1-1 game with No. 6 Notre Dame. The No. 10 Spartans were just about ready to walk away sweeping the weekend series until Notre Dame’s Ryan Thang scored his 12th goal of the season with 37.8 seconds left in the game.

Icers to meet Notre Dame in critical CCHA series

Sitting three points outside of the top spot in the league, this weekend’s series with No. 6 Notre Dame could put the MSU hockey team in a better position to win the CCHA regular season championship — the only title the Spartans have yet to win with their current group of seniors.

Role reversal

As a senior at Braham Area High School in Braham, Minn., Isaiah Dahlman averaged 33.6 points per game and finished with a career total of 3,366 points. Last year, Dahlman played in 26 games for the MSU men’s basketball team, logging 403 minutes and scoring 96 points all season.

Comley wants more from icers

The MSU hockey team has posted a 1-2-1 record since a 20-day winter break. And while those aren’t necessarily the most impressive numbers, head coach Rick Comley said the team needs to only work on a few skills to bounce back.
