Amidst another sexual abuse lawsuit, this time pulling in the names of former national team coordinators Bela and Marta Karolyi into the pot, ex-MSU faculty member and former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar came in third place in a local election for Holt School Board.

As of 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, 83 of 83 counties were reported for the statewide MSU Board of Trustees race, according to Michigan Secretary of State. Democratic candidate Dianne Byrum and Republican candidate Dan Kelly won the election. Byrum received 23.94 percent of the vote and Kelly received 24.13 percent of the vote.

As of 1:13 a.m., Democratic candidate Scott Wriggelsworth has 57.70 percent of the vote in the Ingham County Sheriff race. The State News predicts Wriggelsworth will win this election over opponent Republican Eric Trojanowicz.
Incumbent Sam Singh (D-East Lansing) won the 69th District State House of Representatives. The district encompasses East Lansing, Haslett, Okemos, Williamstown Township and Locke Township in Ingham County. Singh took a comfortable lead in the race.
Mike Bishop (R) has won the election for the 8th District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
In a noncompetitive race, the Potter Park Zoo millage renewal passed by more than 70 percent in favor of the millage being renewed.
Lansing residents and MSU students lined up toward the end of the day Tuesday to vote in the 2016 presidential election.
