MSU's campus is turning into an 'advanced mobility ecosystem'

MSU is transforming its 5,200-acre campus into a live, connected ecosystem to drive mobility and research, according to a university press release. Much of the transformation is complete and "MSU’s controlled infrastructure and active campus make it ideal to test emerging technologies for new mobility solutions," the release said.

Meet the MSU Board of Trustees candidates

Two seats on the Board of Trustees are now open and will be filled after the upcoming election Nov. 6. Four candidates are running for these open spots — Democrats Brianna Scott and Kelly Tebay and Republicans Dave Dutch and Mike Miller.

Understanding the Trauma of Sexual Assault discussion held at Wonders Hall

Dr. Rebecca Campbell, a professor in MSU’s Ecological Psychology Department, gave a talk concerning the science behind the trauma of sexual assault and how best to help survivors Monday night at the Wonders Kiva. The talk described how the brain processes trauma and, afterwards, a Q&A session was held where survivors and other community members asked for a psychological perspective on how to move forward after trauma occurs.

ASMSU passes pro-LGBT bill after debate

At ASMSU's general assembly meeting on Oct. 18, a bill calling for ASMSU to advocate against the Food & Drug Administration’s current one-year deferral policy on blood donations for gay and bisexual men sparked argument among the general assembly and led to a recess in the middle of discussion. The bill finally passed after over 17 minutes of debate.

MIPSA to hold 2018 conference at MSU

The Department of Political Science will be hosting the Michigan Political Science Association (MIPSA) Conference for the association’s 50th annual conference Oct. 25 to Oct. 26 at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center.
