Professor works to prevent diseases through data, research

Department of fisheries and wildlife associate professor Dr. Jean Tsao has been on a hunt for years, but she’s not hunting for animals ? she’s hunting for Lyme disease. Lyme disease is caused by a bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi, and it is transmitted in the eastern United States by the Black-legged tick.

Lansing women learn self defense

Smith demonstrated each move with Lansing resident Kyle Rogers, who has been training at the American Martial Arts and Fitness Academy for three years. Rogers enjoys the class because he said it’s a good way to remain physically active and to learn how to protect yourself. “And it’s just fun,” he said.
