Gas line ruptures at Cyclotron construction site
The Veterinary Medical Center was evacuated Wednesday afternoon for a gas leak. MSU police have blocked off Wilson Road near Bogue Street while the fire department investigates. An MSU alert said the Cyclotron was the only building evacuated, conflicted with reports on the ground, but students are being told to "avoid the area." WLNS reported that traffic was being diverted from a half-mile radius, but that has not been confirmed. Stay tuned for more information.

The Reduced Shakespeare Company group is heading to East Lansing this Thursday evening to perform at the Wharton Center, bringing comedy performances with topics ranging from the bible to Shakespeare.

MSU will face Michigan at Comerica Park in April
MSU and Michigan will renew their rivalry this time on the professional baseball diamond next month. The Spartans (8-9 overall) will take on the Wolverines (11-8 overall) at Comerica Park at 6:35p.m. on April 14. MSU did not play Michigan last season but were swept in two games in the 2013 season against their in-state rivals. The matchup at Comerica Park in April will be the only game between the two teams this season. MSU will play at Comerica Park the following day as well against Central Michigan (13-7 overall) at 7:05 p.m. Head coach Jake Bross, MSU Director of Admissions Jim Cotter, the Spartan Brass and Sparty will partake in a pregame reception at 5p.m. For $30, fans can purchase a game ticket, which also includes admission into a tailgate-style meal and a cash bar.

Revised Gateway project proposal would prevent demolition of first-ever Biggby Coffee
The Gateway construction project, first proposed in 2013, required demolishing the coffee shop to make space for a six-story apartment building. The plan has since changed to a four-story building as the proposed project would have cut off public views to Valley Court Park.

Delton Williams pleads not guilty in brandishing gun charge
Less than 24 hours after he was apprehended by MSU police, sophomore running back Delton Williams pleaded not guilty to one charge of brandishing a firearm in public after an alleged road rage incident on Monday night, according to 54B District Court documents.

MSU Club Hockey takes home ACHA national championship
Teams from across the country competed for the title, but MSU came out on top. After an intense competition, the MSU Division 3 Hockey Club won the 2014-15 ACHA National Championship game in Pelham, Alabama on March 14. The tournament had the Spartans facing off against the University of Alabama (4-4), Colorado State University (5-3), Pitts-Johnstown University (2-9) and Bryn Athyn College (7-6 OT) for the semi-finals.

Tom Izzo: Big Ten championship would have been motivation to future teams

When he addressed the media on Tuesday, his tone was a little different. The Spartans were seven minutes away from securing head coach Tom Izzo's fifth Big Ten championship banner before Wisconsin flipped the script and stole the game in overtime.

Breaking: Running back Delton Williams suspended, currently in custody at Ingham County Jail.
The football team took a hit today as another player has run into legal trouble. Sophomore running back Delton Williams was taken into custody at the Ingham County Jail according to online records. Head coach Mark Dantonio released a statement on the sophomore running backs status with the team as of now. "Delton Williams has been suspended indefinitely from all team-related activities," Dantonio said. According to a report on the website isportsweb.com Williams was taken into custody for brandishing a firearm during a road rage incident at the corner of Shaw Lane and Farm Lane. There was an alert issued by the MSU Police Department detailing the incident before it was known Williams was involved. Attorney general files appeal on ruling that protected wolves in Michigan
The appeal was filed on behalf of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and asks the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia to uphold the December 2011 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s decision that removed the Great Lakes Distinct Population Segment of wolves from the federal endangered species list.
