Missing your little siblings? They can visit this weekend

This Friday, February 6, the annual Sibs & Kids weekend (formerly named Lil Sibs weekend) will commence for Michigan State students and any of their cousins, siblings, children, or friends.   Registration is free for all students, which can be done online at the University Activities Board website.   Check-in will begin Friday at 4 p.m.

On a day that brings a plethora of strain and tension, Mark Dantonio woke up this morning feeling stress free.  With an overcast hanging above his head and plenty of slush accumulating on his feet, the MSU head coach took the time to go for a run.  "I wasn't worried about anything," Dantonio said Wednesday afternoon at the signing day press conference at Spartan Stadium.

Snyder won't appeal decision to recognize same-sex couples married during window

Gov. Rick Snyder will not appeal the U.S. District Court of Appeals decision of recognizing the validity of the same-sex couples who got married in March of 2014.    “The judge has determined that same-sex couples were legally married on that day, and we will follow the law and extend state marriage benefits to those couples," Snyder said in a press release sent on Wednesday.  In the press release, Snyder recognized how controversial same-sex marriage has been in Michigan — the U.S.

Leading up to Relay for Life Kick-off, student groups prepare for week of service

MSU's ‘Spartans Fighting Cancer’ organization is attempting to transform campus from green to purple this week with the “Paint the Campus Purple Week”. The week-long event is intended to spread cancer awareness, increase cancer education and promote cancer advocacy. Each day this week there will be a mini task for students and those around campus to perform.

Arizona outside linebacker Cassius Peat dumps UCLA, picks MSU instead

Corona De Sol (AZ) outside linebacker Cassius Peat, who committed to UCLA back in October, has flipped his decision and has signed his letter of intent with MSU on National Signing Day.  First reported by Jason Jewell of Scout.com on Wednesday, Peat remained opened to other programs despite committing to UCLA.  The Spartans were one of three schools that Peat was considering, along with Arizona State and the Bruins.  Ranked as the No.

Swimming and diving looks forward to meet against rival

The Michigan State Women’s swimming and diving team will be looking to get back in the win column this Friday, as they take on women of Michigan The meet will take place in East Lansing, and will be a great opportunity for the Spartans to bounce back after a tough 190-110 this past Saturday against Illinois. The team hasn't had the best season so far, currently holding a 5-8 record.

Latest Bias Busters class publication focuses on Muslim Americans

The process of publishing the book takes about 80 days from start to finish. Students begin by speaking to members of that specific faith or group and ask them what kinds of questions they feel should be answered. Communications senior Sarah King took the course and said she feels this process is a “great experience for students to practice interviewing and writing skills.”
